Minister of Music Position

Vision Fellowship Church is seeking a passionate and experienced Minister of Music to lead and enhance our music ministry in alignment with the mission and vision of the church. This position reports directly to the Pastors. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in creating a worship atmosphere that  uplifts and encourages the body of Christ,  fosters an environment for God’s presence to manifest, and prepares hearts for the preached Word of God while drawing sinners to Him through song and worship.

The Minister of Music will focus on growing the overall music ministry, leading worship services, and coordinating special services and events. Additionally, the role includes providing direction for the Worship Team, Vision Singers, and choir/groups, while fostering collaboration with local and community music organizations.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership and Worship Coordination:

• Provide musical accompaniment and leadership for the Worship Team, Vision Singers, and choir/groups, covering both traditional and contemporary selections.

• Direct weekly rehearsals for the Worship Team, Vision Singers, and choir/groups prior to their scheduled participation in worship services.

• Lead music ministry efforts for Sunday worship services, special events, and church functions, including but not limited to funerals, revivals, anniversaries, and holiday programs.

• Collaborate with Pastors and worship leaders to create set lists that align with the theme and flow of worship services.

• Work with the Pastors to ensure the music ministry reflects the church's vision and spiritual goals.

Music Education and Development:

• Teach and enhance the musical capabilities of the Worship Team, Vision Singers, and choir/group members, ensuring a balance between excellence and worshipful expression.

• Conduct workshops and training sessions to nurture growth in individual and group performance.

• Recruit and encourage members to participate in the Worship Team, Vision Singers, and choir/groups.

Administrative and Operational Responsibilities:

• Select and prepare all music selections for services and events, ensuring they are seasonally appropriate and spiritually uplifting.

• Prepare and manage the music ministry budget, ensuring all needs and activities align with church resources.

• Secure substitute musicians when unable to attend services or rehearsals.

• Self-motivated, adaptable, and organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.

Musical and Professional Experience:

• Proven experience in leading a church music ministry or similar role.

• Proficiency in playing the keyboard.

• Ability to play by ear and teach vocal parts.

• Experience in worship planning and ministry leadership.

Additional Expectations:

• Attend scheduled rehearsals, meetings, and events related to the music ministry.

• Notify the Pastors of planned absences and ensure responsibilities are covered.

• Serve as a positive ambassador for Vision Fellowship Church, reflecting Christian virtues in all interactions.

Salary: Compensation is commensurate with experience and the church budget.
